Dick Ropiequet, 1959

Richard Lincoln Ropiequet (8 May 1920 - 25 April 2011) was a Tektronix engineer.

A chemical engineer by education, “Rope” was a key figure in early Tek, having joined the company in 1949 and eventually rising to the position of Executive Vice President of Engineering. He left in the 1960s.

Tek Products

Ropiequet is credited with creating the precision sweep generator for models 315 and 310 that for the first time permitted time calibration and led to the term “Time-Base” being adopted.
