The Tektronix 7D13 is a digital multimeter plug-in for 7000-series scopes with CRT readout. It will function in any compartment. There is no analog output signal presented on the CRT; therefore, it is not necessary to select the 7D13 with the oscilloscope Vertical or Horizontal Mode switches.

The input section is galvanically isolated, allowing the input to float ±1500 volts with respect to chassis ground.

Key Specifications

Functions DC Volts, DC Current, Resistance, Temperature
Voltage Ranges 1.999 V, 19.99 V, 199.9 V, 1000 V (max. 500 V via P6058)
Input impedance 10 MΩ
Current ranges 1.999 mA, 19.99 mA, 199.9 mA, 1999 mA
Resistance ranges 199.9 Ω, 1999 Ω, 19.99 kΩ, 199.9 kΩ, 1999 kΩ
Temperature 7D13: -55 °C to +125 °C, requires P6058 voltage/temperature probe or P6430 temperature probe
7D13A: requires P6601 PT-100 probe

Internals

The 7D13 consists of an analog pulse width modulator front-end built with 741 op amps and dual FETs, and a 3½ digit counter section using standard 74xx TTL parts which is interfacing with the readout system (through a 155-0038-00 D/A converter). The front end is isolated by transformers used for pulses and a floating ±15 V supply. The Probe jack for the P6058 (a 4-pin LEMO S-series connector) has contacts for the temperature sensor (a diode-connected transistor) as well as the voltage input terminals.
