Random sampling is a sampling oscilloscope technique that allows viewing of the pre-trigger regions of the waveform, as well as the actual trigger event and after the trigger event. In some applications, it eliminates the need for a delay line in the vertical signal path, thereby avoiding the signal integrity problems of delay lines. Random sampling is provided by the 3T2 and 7T11.
