The 153-0040-00 is a 50 mA low-capacitance tunnel diode used as the output device in the S-50 and S-52 pulse generator heads. The tunnel diode was manufactured by General Electric, part number SMTD-993. Peak current should be between 45 mA and 63 mA and valley current should be approximately 7.5 mA.
