Manufactured by the American company Tektronix, the date of manufacture is unknown. It was used in the legendary oscilloscope Tek 7104, the first large-scale oscilloscope with a 1GHz band. This miracle of technology was introduced in 1978. The tube absorbed a whole bunch of different artful structures that serve to display the diagrams of such high-frequency signals on a large-sized screen. One of these devices is a brightness amplifier based on a microchannel plate. The plate itself can’t visible on the photo, of course, - вut its presence is guessed by the specific of Tek’s CRT with MCP imposition of the near-screen part of the cone. The main parts of the CRT are shown in the next photo in more detail.
