The Tracor Northern TN-1705 is a pulse height analyzer. It is intended to be used in a Tektronix 5103N oscilloscope mainframe. In one of its modes, the TN-1705 takes a analog voltage pulse as its input, digitizes the height of the pulse, and increments a location in RAM corresponding to the pulse height. This produces a pulse height histogram. Photomultipliers are one of the intended input sources. In another mode, the TN-1705 counts the pulses during regular intervals of time, and displays the data as count (on the y-axis) versus time (on the x-axis). The pulse detection threshold is configurable.
