Power Supplies for the Type 134 Current Probe Amplifier
The Tektronix 015-0058-00 is the early 115 VAC power supply version for the Tektronix 134. It has a standard NEMA 5-15 AC power plug built onto the body of the power supply.
The Tektronix 015-0059-00 is the early 230 VAC power supply version for the Tektronix 134. It is identical to the 115 VAC version except for the cover, which has a different part number and voltage rating printed on it, and the addition of dropping resistors (2 kΩ & 2.7 kΩ, both 3 W) in series with the transformer primary. Oddly, this 230 VAC version appears to use a NEMA 5-15 115 VAC cord and plug. The addition of the two series resistors allows it to work from 207 to 253 VAC.
The Tektronix 015-0058-01 is the later 115 VAC version of the power supply for the Tektronix 134 Current Probe Amplifier. It differs from the 015-0058-00 in that it has a ~1 m AC power cord, an extended section of the housing to accommodate the power cord and strain relief, and a different part number on the plastic housing.
The Tektronix 015-0059-01 is the later 230 VAC version of this power supply. It differs from the 015-0059-00 in that it has a ~1 m AC power cord, an extended section of the housing to accommodate the power cord and strain relief, and a different part number on the plastic housing.
The latest version (please add) of the Type 134 power supply appears to be a Tektronix branded wall wart with an AC line cord and output to an inline connector.
Each version provides an unfiltered full wave rectified 20-25 VDC output to the 134 amplifier. The negative side is held near ground by a pair of anti-parallel diodes and the center conductor of the output connector is positive. That output is filtered and regulated down to ~14 V in the amplifier. They work from 50 to 400 Hz and 103.5 to 126.5 VAC, or 201 to 253 VAC for the 230 V versions. The output is via a proprietary coaxial Tektronix connector.
The early versions resemble the Tektronix 131 power supplies , with the built-in AC power plug, and all the output connectors are the same, but the 131 power supplies and 134 power supplies are not interchangeable, due to the difference in grounding.
