Bruce Hofer (? – ?) worked on 11k series time bases design (with Art Metz).

He designed low distortion oscillators and harmonic distortion measuring equipment for 5000 series.

Unable to convince Tek management there was a market for this, Bruce quit and founded Audio Precision with Bob Metzler and at least one other.

Audio Precision became the world standard for audio manufacturers. Bruce became majority owner of AP.
