It is a TM500 version of the [[CG5001]] and requires a [[TM504]] Mod UB, [[TM506]] Mod JB, [[TM515]] Mod UB or [[RTM506]] Mod JB enclosure.

It uses external heads, the [[015-0310-01]] Comparator Head and the [[015-0311-01]] Programmable Pulse Head, which attach through [[LEMO S-series connector]]s.

The CG551AP has a remote control accessory, the [[015-0309-01]].
