Scan-converter CRT 154-0698-00. The CRT was manufactured by Tektronix on the 22nd week of 2007, if you believe the date on the nameplate. It is known as the date of development: next to the deflection plates of the reading gun clearly visible etched inscription «© 1972 Tektronix INC». The design of the tube looks horrible like a graphecon: in the middle of a CRT, a target with charge transfer; On one side of the target there is a high frequency wring gun; On the other hand is a vidicon-like reading gun. The design is not welded, that is, both the reading and writing parts are in the one-piece bulb. The deflection system of the reading gun is electrostatic and includes 4 serpentine plates applied on the inner surface of the bulb. The focusing system is combined: electrostatic plus the assembly of the magnetic coils from above. Magnetic coils, by the way, have their numbers: 108-0763-00 (above the gun itself) and 108-0764-00 (over deflecting plates), and manufactured at the 19th week of 1986. The writing gun has a standard for HF oscillography CRT design: electrostatic focusing, electrostatic deflection. The design of deflecting systems with respect to "Y" is helical (traveling wave), and monolithic plates in "X". The overall dimensions of the tube: the diameter of the writing part is 50.8 mm, the diameter of the reading part is 26.7 mm. The total length is 578mm. In the standard delivery set, the tube together with the focusing coils is placed in an electromagnetic shielding sleeve with a diameter of 71 mm. A little more about the design of CRT. As I said, the tube comes from the factory in a metal sleeve, in which it is tightly fixed with clamps. It is replaced in the device with a sleeve. Outside the reading gun (between the bulb and the focusing magnetic system) is glued copper foil shielding, electrically connected to the casing sleeve. To avoid parasitic exposure, the CRT was entirely covered with black paint along the entire length from the target to the middle of the deposition of the getter on writing gun. Unfortunately, I did not think to photograph the appearance of this assembly before I began to gut it, now I regret it. This CRT was used in a broadband TEK-7912 digitizer. This device had a bandwidth of up to 1 GHz (when the signal was applied directly to the OS of the tube) and allowed to obtain a picture with a resolution of 512 points horizontally, with a bitwidth of 9 bit vertically.
