Many Tektronix oscilloscopes and timebases have a multi-turn potentiometer on the front panel allowing the operator to precisely select the delay time of a second sweep. Terms related to this are:

  • delay time multiplier, aka DTM or D.T.M. (The function that the control performs.)
  • Helidial ?
  • Helipot (A division of Beckman Instruments that made precision multi-turn pots.)
  • Duodial (A mechanical indicator for the position of the multi-turn pot.)
