Head Alignment Fixture. Ensures that the tape head on digital tape units is correctly positioned with respect to other mechanical parts on the unit. Use the fixture after head replacement or mechanical disassembly, or when tape head position causes data errors. If the position of the tape head is changed during use of the fixture, the tape head’s height and skew adjustments should be checked using the adjustment procedure described in the unit’s service manual.
