Jean Delord

Jean Frederic Delord (b. 1920 in France – d. 2002-10)

Delord was a member of the French resistance and expert forger who escaped from a Nazi work camp before eventually earning his PhD in physics at the University of Kansas.

Delord became Tektronix' first director of research and development in 1954, a position he held until returning to Reed full time in 1964.

His research focused on solid state physics, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics.
