The Tektronix 835 is a portable "programmable data communications tester" (serial protocol analyzer).
Sister models are 834 and 836.
The lead software engineer and project manager for the 835 was Bill Randle. The 835 was developed in Redmond. Others on the project were Ken Spencer (software), Dennis Holmbo (hardware) and Andy ? (custom ASIC).
