The '''Tektronix P6339A''' 500 MHz Buffered Passive Probe was designed exclusively for the [[TDS794D]] and [[TDS694C]] instruments that have a fixed 50 Ω input impedance and a [[Tekprobe_BNC_connector|TekProbe interface]].

It is in essence an oscilloscope front-end in a probe package – attenuation, coupling, AC/DC coupling, offset and bandwidth limit are controlled by the oscilloscope.  For probe adjustment procedures, attenuation is set by an internal DIP switch.
