Grass Valley Group was formed by Dr. Donald Hare in 1959 in Grass Valley, CA.
The company merged with Tektronix in 1974. When Tektronix divested its printing, video and networking divisions it sold the video business, which was reincorporated under the name Grass Valley Group, Inc. in 1999.
