The Tektronix 7M11 is a plug-in which contains two independent 50 Ω, 75 ns analog delay lines with GR-874 connectors. Rise time is specified as 175 ps maximum, and attenuation is fixed at 2:1.
To eliminate an external power splitter, a separate trigger output is available through a BNC connector at 5:1 attenuation (line 1 or 2 switch selectable).
The mass of the 7M11 is about 2.5 kg (5.5 lb), so one must be careful when sliding it into the slot. (Generally, Tektronix specifies not to ship mainframes with inserted plug-ins, to protect the bus connectors!)
Because it is completely passive and has no bus contacts, the 7M11 can be operated outside of the mainframe on the desk, freeing a slot for another plug-in. Tek originally made a carrying enclosure (437-0106-00) to hold a 7M11 for desk use.
The interface between the GR-874 input connector and the trigger pickoff board is described in US Patent 3,426,311, and is similar to the ones in the S-1 and S-2 samplers.
The 035-5031-00 TM500 plug-in is roughly equivalent to one half of a 7M11.
