The Tektronix 7M11 is a plug-in which contains two independent 50 Ω analog delay lines with 75 ns each. Rise time is specified as 175 ps maximum, and attenuation is fixed at 2:1.
A separate trigger output is available to eliminate an external power splitter. Signal through the trigger pick-off output is attenuated by a factor of five. Delay line connections are 50 Ω GR-874, trigger pickoff is through a BNC connector at 5:1 attenuation (line 1 or 2 switch selectable).
The maximum signal allowed is +/- 5V. The mass of the 7M11 about 2.5 kg (5.5 lb), so one must be careful when sliding it into the slot. (Generally, Tektronix specifies not to ship mainframes with inserted plug-ins, to protect the bus connectors!)
Because it is completely passive and has no bus contacts, the 7M11 can be operated outside of the mainframe on the desk, freeing a slot for another plug-in. Tek originally made a carrying enclosure to hold a 7M11 for desk use.
