The Tektronix 067-1436-00 Communications Pod was used between a PC and a TAS400, TDS300, or THS700 series oscilloscopes to download firmware to the instrument. It uses both a serial port and GPIB at the same time along with specific PC software.
The ribbon cable connects directly to the CPU board on TAS400 and main board on TDS300 series scopes, while THS700 series scopes used an adapter cable to connect to the socket on its mainboard.
The green RJ45 connector on top seen in the pictures is not original.
