The Tektronix P6038 is a probe used by the 3S3 and 4S3 sampling plug-ins. The P6038 contains a sampling gate made of four GaAs diodes that snap into place. The input impedance is 100kOhms in parallel with 2pF. The system risetime is rated at 350psec. Other than the sampling gate, the P6038 contains a toroidal common-mode choke to help balance the sampling pulses that come from the plug-in to the sampling gate. There is no amplifier in the P6038. Kickout is rated at less than 50 mV for the probe alone, and less than 5 mV when the probe is used with its 10x attenuator tip. The P6038 is similar to the S-3 probe.
