The Tektronix Type 72 is a two-channel amplifier designed for use in the 561 and 565, with a frequency response from DC to 650 kHz and sensitivity of 10 mV/div to 20 V/div. It was introduced in 1961.

At serial number 1420, the 72 was renamed the 3A72. The 3A72 documentation applies to the 72.
