There are two different versions, or generations, of the Tektronix P6008 ×10 passive voltage probe. Each was fitted with a BNC connector with no readout encoding pin.

010-0130-00

The early (1963) P6008 Probe (010-130 & 010-0130-00) was primarily designed for use with the Type 82 and Type 86 plug-ins in a 580-series scope, with 15 pF inputs. It came with a 3.5 foot gray cable. Like the other members of the monolithic probe family, the early P6008 was rated for temperatures up to 75 °C.

Key Specifications

Attenuation 10 × ±3% with 1 MΩ ±2% scope input
Maximum Voltage 600 V DC or AC p-p, derated above 20 MHz
Compensation range 15 pF (may be compensated to 20 pF with some loss of bandwidth)
Bandwidth 66 MHz w/Type 82 or 86 Plugin (63 MHz with x10 GAIN)
Input capacitance ~7 pF

010-0130-01

The later (1971) P6008 ENVIRONMENTAL PROBE (010-0130-01) can be compensated to a wider range of scope input capacitances, has wider bandwidth, but higher input capacitance. It came with a 6 foot white cable. This later version of the P6008 was rated for temperatures up to 150 °C for the probe and cable and up to 55 °C for the compensation box.

Key Specifications

Attenuation 10 × ±3% with 1 MΩ ±2% scope input
Maximum Voltage 600 V, DC + peak AC, derated with frequency
Compensation range 15 pF to 55 pF
Bandwidth 100 MHz w/15 pF scope inputs
Input capacitance 10-14 pF, depending on scope input capacitance
