The CRT in Tektronix oscilloscopes often had a standard phosphor based on the intended application of the instrument. On request, other phosphors were available. The phosphor affects:

  • trace color
  • maximum trace brightness
  • trace width
  • persistence time
  • writing rate
  • resistance to burns
