The Tektronix 015-0310-01 is a comparator head for use with the CG551AP/CG5001/CG5010/CG5011 programmable calibrators.
The comparator head is used to calibrate built-in oscilloscope calibrators against the signals available from the CG5001. Both the oscilloscope calibrator and CG5001 standard amplitude signals are applied to the comparator head and simultaneously displayed on the oscilloscope CRT by means of mercury wetted reed relays. The CG5001 signals are then varied to obtain congruent displays. Errors are then displayed on the CG5001 readout.

Internals
The circuit of the 015-0310-01 contains a timer to limit the continuous switching comparison in the AUTO mode to 30s, 1 minute or 2 minutes, selected internally with a jumper. Still the initial relays (148-0131-00) proved to be a reliability issue, with a total operating time limit of 24h given in the manual. Effective SN B110316 a PCB redesign supporting larger mercury wetted relays of different manufacture (148-0142-00) was incorporated.
