Charles Arlington Nolan (b. 9 May 1920 in Portland, OR – d. 30 Mar 2008 in Morro Bay, CA) led the development of the 507.
A native of Portland, OR, Nolan started college at Oregon State College (OSC) and worked in the shipyards, then later served three years in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After an honorable discharge he went back to OSC and graduated with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He began his professional career at Tektronix, but later moved to Silicon Valley to join a startup company. After 23 years in the electronics industry, he purchased a retail business, which he sold in 1985 to retire.
