The Tektronix P6339A 500 MHz Buffered Passive Probe was designed exclusively for the TDS794D and TDS694C instruments that have a fixed 50 Ω input impedance and a TekProbe interface.
It is in essence an oscilloscope front-end in a probe package – attenuation, coupling, AC/DC coupling, offset and bandwidth limit are controlled by the oscilloscope. For probe adjustment procedures, attenuation is set by an internal DIP switch.
