The Intel 4004 is a 4-bit microprocessor monolithic integrated circuit introduced in 1971. It was the first commercial microprocessor.

It has a 4-bit data path width and 12 address bits and a minimum cycle time of 10.8 µs. The 4004 is packaged in a 16-pin DIL with multiplexed bus signals.
