The 2N2207 is a germanium PNP transistor with
- ft= 140 MHz
- IC (max) = 50 mA
- hfe (min) = 36
The 2N2207 is used in a variety of 1960's Tektronix equipment including the 3B1, 547, 321A, and 3B3. The Tektronix part number for the 2N2207 is 151-063. Due to tin whisker growth inside the case, 2N2207 are a common source of problems on Tektronix scopes from the 1960's. In most (but not all) circuits, a failed 2N2207 can be replaced with a modern silicon PNP transistor.
