The Tektronix P6420 is an RF demodulator probe for DMMs with 10 MΩ input resistance, providing a DC output voltage proportional to the RMS value of a sine-wave input.

Designed to be used with a digital multimeter with a 10 MΩ input resistance, the P6420 can also be used with oscilloscopes which have a 1 MΩ input for relative flatness readings.

Key Specifications

Frequency range 10 kHz to 1 GHz (±3 dB), 50 kHz to 500 MHz (±1.5 dB), 100 kHz to 300 MHz (±0.5 dB)
Voltage Range 0.5 to 24 VRMS (70 Vp-p)
AC to DC Transfer Ratio Accuracy ±10% from 0.5 to 5 VRMS between +15 and 35 °C
Input Capacitance 3.7 pF
Maximum Input Voltage 42.4 V (peak AC + DC)

Internals

The probe body and PCB construction is similar to the P6202 FET probe. The 013-0097-01 retractable hook tip is common to both probes.
