Exploded view of the probe assembly. The PCB is soldered to the shielding tube and the coax, and the tube is then crimped over the coax.
-
The probe uses "lossless" 50 Ω coax, as there's amplification at the business end. The circuitry connects to the TekProbe interface to declare the probe's identity to the scope.
-
The tip network comprises three laser-trimmed resistors and a laser-trimmed capacitor. The tip resistance measures 800 kΩ, the middle resistor was on the order of 25 Ω, and the resistance to ground is 200 kΩ. This makes a 1/5 divider from tip to the amplifier.

It looks like the amplifier has two identical sections, presumably the same chip is used for differential active probes.
