The Tektronix 2901 is a time mark generator. Construction is fully solid state.

The 2901 provides 5 s to 2 ns markers. In the 50 ns (20 MHz) to 2 ns (500 MHz) ranges, the signal is only a sine wave.
A common problem of the 2901 is that the key labeling wears off easily.
