The 2N2207 is a germanium PNP transistor with

  • Ft = 140MHz
  • Ic(max) = 50mA
  • hfe(min) = 36

The 2N2207 is used in a variety of 1960's Tektronix equipment including the 3B1, 547, 321A, and 3B3. The Tektronix part number for the 2N2207 is 151-063. 2N2207 are a common source of problems on Tektronix scopes from the 1960's. In most (but not all) circuits, a failed 2N2207 can be replaced with a modern silicon PNP transistor.
