The Tektronix P6139 is a passive 500 MHz ×10 scope probe for 1 MΩ // 8-18 pF scope inputs.

It has a ×10 readout pin, and shares accessories with many other Tektronix compact modular probes.

Key Specifications

Attenuation 10×
Bandwidth 500 MHz
Input impedance 10 MΩ // 8 pF
Compensation range 8 to 18 pF
Length 1.3 m
Intended for TDS500 series, TDS3052, TDS3054

The P6139B has some physical differences.
From a Tek FAQ:

  • Sharper tip
  • Ground spring attaches directly to the tip without the special sleeve used in the P6139A
  • Alligator Ground lead attaches directly above the plastic sleeve and does not use the ground lead with the "donut"
  • Sleek design
  • Compliant to March 2011 safety updates (UL approved)

The TPP 0100, TPP 0101, TPP 0200, TPP 0201, TPP 0500, TPP 1000, and P6139B passive probes all share a common probe tip diameter, so the probe accessories work across all of the probes.

Issues

According to KE5FX:

Unless they've had their cables replaced, they had a whisker- or dendrite-growth problem in the cable that will short out the signal and drive you nuts. It can be cleared by running some current through the BNC connector but only temporarily. The only fix is to order a new cable from Tektronix, which I'm not sure you can still do.
