FC/PC connector

The FC/PC connector is a keyed fiberoptic connector with a threaded body, used for both single- and multi-mode fibre.

FC connectors need to be mated carefully types due to the need to align the key, and there is a risk of scratching the fiber end face while inserting it into the jack. FC connectors are not suited for vibrating environments due to the threaded lock. They connectors have been replaced in many applications by miniaturized plastic SC and LC connectors.
