The Tektronix M165  (P/N 155-0086-00) is a custom legend generator monolithic integrated circuit in a 20-pin DIP, designed by Roger McCoy and Mike Metcalf.

It contains a 12×10×4 read-only memory coupled to a 4-bit D/A converter with internal current sources that can directly interface with the row and column current inputs of the 7000 series readout system.

The 155-0086-00/0087/0088/0104/0105/0135-00 (M165, M166, M167, M169, M170, M171) share the same silicon and differ only in the metallization layers.
