Unauthorized clones of Tektronix instruments
In 1959, the US Air Force awarded contracts to produce Tektronix Type 545 scopes, an order which involved companies Hickok and Lavoie.
In February 1961, Tektronix filed suit against the US Government. Litigation took many years, the case was ultimately closed only in 1979, when Tek was paid $4.5M compensation.
