LeCroy Corporation (→ WikiData) was founded in 1964 (as LeCroy Research Systems) by Walter LeCroy that competed with Tektronix in the area of digital storage oscilloscopes.

LeCroy bought Preamble Instruments in October 1997.

It was acquired by Teledyne in 2012.
