The 12RM99 is a software ROM pack for the 1240/1241. The "Opt(ion) xx" suffix indicates which firmware it carries.
The 12RM99 ROM cartridges are physically and functionally identical to the 12RMxx cartridges, but were the victims of a renumbering scheme started by Tektronix in 1987. The 12RM01-12RM71 designations remained, but new cartridges that were released bore the "12RM99 + Opt(ion) xx" designation.
