The Tektronix 7834 is a 400 MHz multi-mode CRT storage scope that takes two vertical and two horizontal 7000-series plug-ins.
It was the fastest analog-storage scope in the 7000 series, both in terms of bandwidth and writing speed, from its introduction in 1977 until it was superseded by the 500 MHz 7934 in 1987.
Key Specifications
Bandwidth | 400 MHz with 7A19, 7A29, 300 MHz with 7A24 |
---|---|
Rise time | 0.9 ns (with 7A19, 7A29) |
Fastest cal. sweep | 1 ns/Div |
Storage modes | bistable, variable persistence, fast bistable, fast variable persistence |
Writing speed | 5500 Div/μs in fast variable persistence mode with reduced scan, 776 Div/μs in fast bistable mode with reduced scan |
Storage time | >30 s in variable persistence modes, >30 minutes in bistable modes (typically hours) |
CRT | 8×10 Div @ 0.9 cm/Div, 154-0745-00 with P31 phosphor, or 154-0780-00 |
Acceleration voltage | 10 kV (12 kV in reduced scan modes) |
Calibrator | 40 mV/400 mV/4 V into >100 kΩ; 4 mV/40 mV/400 mV into 50 Ω; 1 kHz |
Power | 90-132 V or 180-250 V, 215 W; Fan, thermal cut-off switch |
Weight | 17 kg (37.5 lb) |
Internals
The 7834 has a switch-mode power supply and a fan (mounted sideways).
