The 12RM63 is a software ROM pack for the 1240 and 1241. It is used to disassemble instructions from the MOS Technology 6502 microprocessor.
The UPIK 40 harness is used to make an easy connection to the processor. It is not required though. At least two 1240D2 cards installed with 4 probes are needed.
Note that the part numbers on these EPROMs in these photos indicate that they are from the 12RM27 68010 ROM Pack.
