The Tektronix 1503 is a sinusoidal TDR cable tester with a similar design to the 1502B/C step-pulse TDRs.
The 1503 transmits a 5 V half-sine pulse of selectable duration, allowing an operator to examine up to 50,000 feet of cable.
The 1503B and 1503C successors are microporocessor-based.

When testing 50 Ω cable with a Vp of 0.66, the 1502C allows the determination of 0.5 Ω cable faults. Multiple faults can be measured as close as 0.8 in.
