The Tektronix 285 is a power supply that allows S-50 series heads (S-50/S-52/S-54 pulse generators or S-51/S-53 trigger units) to be used as freestanding instruments instead of in an oscilloscope. The 285 provides regulated +15 V and -12.2 V to the pulse head.
The trigger signal from the head's rear connector is brought out on a BSM connector on the 285's front.
