The Tektronix Type 532 is a 5 MHz oscilloscope introduced in 1955 which accepts letter-series and 1-series plug-ins.
From the manual: "It is specially engineered to get extra dependability through circuit simplicity and conservative tube loading."
The 532 uses a T52 CRT with an anode voltage of +2350 V and a cathode voltage of approximately -1650 V. P2 phosphor was standard for the 532. P1, P7, and P11 were optional at no charge.
There is also a rack-mount version, the RM32. The 532 uses 475 watts and weighs 23.5 kg (52 pounds).
Some differences between the 532 and 531:
- The 532 has 5 MHz vertical bandwidth with a Type K plug-in; the 531 is 11 MHz with a Type K.
- The 532 has 8 cm vertical deflection; the 531 has 6 cm vertical deflection.
- The 532 CRT accelerating voltage is 4 kV; the 531 has 10 kV accelerating voltage.
- The 532 has no delay line; the 531 has a delay line
- The 532 has a very simple vertical amplifier; the 531 has output cathode followers, presumably to improve the frequency response.
