Key Specifications
Main Sweep | 100 ns/div to 5 s/div, 1−2−5; ×10 magnifier (i.e. down to 10 ns/div), variable ×2.5 (i.e. up to 12.5 s/div) |
---|---|
Delayed Sweep | 100 ns/div to 0.1 s/div, 1−2−5 |
Delay Time | 0.2 to 10 times the TIME/DIV setting |
Trigger | DC or 50 Hz (AC) or 7.5 kHz (LF REJ) to 10 MHz at 0.4 div or 100 mV; 10−60 MHz at 1 div or 400 mV |
Ext Trig In | 1 MΩ // 20 pF, max. 350 V DC + peak AC or 350 Vp-p AC |
X input | 50 mV/div, DC or 50 Hz to 2 MHz |
Internals
The 5B42 uses several Tek-made ICs, a 155-0049-xx sweep control circuit, and two 155-0042-03 or 155-0028-00 Miller integrators. Before S/N B060000, the trigger generators were implemented using a number of 10k ECL gates. From S/N B060000 onward, these were replaced by a pair of 155-0109-01 trigger circuits.
