Motorola 6800
The Motorola 6800 (P/N 156-0426-00,156-0426-01,156-0426-04,156-0426-05,156-1342-00,156-1342-01,156-2413-00) is an 8-bit microprocessor monolithic integrated circuit family introduced in 1974.
The 6800 requires only a +5 V supply (generating bias voltages on-chip) and came in 40-pin DIL packages. The 6800 has non-multiplexed data (8 bit) and address (16 bit) buses, and requires an external non-overlapping two-phase 0.1 − 1 MHz clock (later versions supported up to 2 MHz).
The 6802, introduced in 1977, includes 128 bytes RAM and an internal clock oscillator. The 6808 is the same without RAM.
The 6801 is a 40-pin single-chip microcomputer that is based on an enhanced 6800 architecture. The 6801 contains 2K of ROM, 128 bytes of RAM, four parallel I/O Ports, a Serial Communications Interface, a Programmable Timer, and an internal clock generator. The 6801 supports eight different processor modes, each of which configures the internal resources of the device differently.
The 68120 is a 48-pin, single-chip microcomputer that is architecturally similar to the 6801. The 68120 is machine code compatible with the 6801. The major differences between the 6801 and 68120 are that the 68120 has an additional 8-bit System Address bus and no internal clock generator.
