These tables describe the configurations necessary for specific microprocessors on Tektronix logic analyzers.<br>
This is the Tektronix microprocessor support table. It gives the configurations for the cards, probes and software cartridges for disassembly of microprocessor instructions on Tektronix logic analyzers.
Those analyzers not providing any specific target support (i.e. connection, disassembly) are listed as a matter of chronology and convenience for the reader.

A "X" means that the option is not applicable, a "?" means that no information is available or it hasn't been found and "NA" means that the probe is not available.
"N/A" means that the option is not applicable; "?" means that no information has been found to date.

"Max" means that it supports the maximum speed fro the processor.
"Max" means that it supports the maximum speed for the processor.

Tektronix 1240/1241
*In catalog 1984-1990
*All acquisition boards are the 18-channel 1240D2. The 9-channel 1240D1 cannot be used.
*If the UPIK 40 harness is listed it means that it is supported, but not required.
*(*1) means that P6460 probes are always required.
*(*2) means that P6460 probes are required for CMOS version.
*(*3) means that P6460 or P6462 probes can be used.
*PM2XX pods must be configured to have the right adapter and jumper settings depending on the IC and its package.
*There is a design for a multipurpose RAM/ROM pack, called SuperPack by Pavel Korensky.  Note the errata in the .
*ROM Pack designations remain confusing.  Not only do they use two conventions - "12RMXX" and "12RM99 Option XX" - but there is overlap and conflict between those for 8-bit CPUs and those for 16-bit CPUs e.g. 12RM01 appears to refer to both 8080 and 8086 support (see: Tektronix 1987 catalog p.121).

Tektronix 1225/1220
*In catalog 1988
*Note that the configuration table for the 1230 is not the same as the one for the 1240/1241.
The internal hardware is different enough that the 1225/1220 can only use external probes. Since the personality modules are the probes the analyzer does not need any acquisition probes.

DISASSEMBLY DISPLAY

Microprocessor disassembly is  an option for the analyzer. When you power up with an optional microprocessor probe connected, the analyzer asks if you want to  use the setup for the microprocessor probe. If you want to use the microprocessor probe's setup, press ENTER to load it.  Otherwise, press MENU to preserve the current analyzer setup and access the normal analyzer menus. Disassembly information is discussed in  the operator's manual for each microprocessor disassembly probe.

Note that the configuration table for the 1230 is not the same as the one for it's two predecessors.
*Introduced 1990
The internal hardware is different enough that the 1225/1220 can only use external probes. Since the personality modules are the probes the analyzer does not need any acquisition probes.

Tektronix 1240/1241

 • In catalog 1984-1990
 • All acquisition boards are the 18-channel 1240D2. The 9-channel 1240D1 cannot be used.
 • If the UPIK 40 harness is listed it means that it is supported, but not required.
 • (*1) means that P6460 probes are always required.
 • (*2) means that P6460 probes are required for CMOS version.
 • (*3) means that P6460 or P6462 probes can be used.
 • PM2XX pods must be configured to have the right adapter and jumper settings depending on the IC and its package.
 • There is a design for a multipurpose RAM/ROM pack, called SuperPack by Pavel Korensky. Note the errata in the README file.
 • ROM Pack designations remain confusing.

 • In catalog 1988
 • Note that the configuration table for the 1230 is not the same as the one for the 1240/1241.

The internal hardware is different enough that the 1225/1220 can only use external probes. Since the personality modules are the probes the analyzer does not need any acquisition probes.

 • The 1230DPA is required for all DPXXXX probes.
 • All acquisition boards are 1230E1.
 • All of the needed software is included with the personality module.

Note from operators manual:

DISASSEMBLY DISPLAY

Microprocessor disassembly is an option for the analyzer. When you power up with an optional microprocessor probe connected, the analyzer asks if you want to use the setup for the microprocessor probe. If you want to use the microprocessor probe's setup, press ENTER to load it. Otherwise, press MENU to preserve the current analyzer setup and access the normal analyzer menus. Disassembly information is discussed in the operator's manual for each microprocessor disassembly probe.
