Internals
The 2424L uses a Motorola 68B09 microprocessor and a TMS9914 GPIB controller. Like in the 7D20, the ADC uses an analog shift register (CCD) for high-speed signal acquisition, and then digitizes the stored analog signal at a lower speed (see Patent US 4527117A). The front panel has its own 6805 microcontroller.
Proprietary ICs in the 2424L include:
A10U100 155-0238-00 EXT TRIGGER PREAMP A10U150 155-0239-02 A/B TRIGGER A10U320,A10U420 165-2235-02 LOW NOISE VERT PREAMP HYBRID A10U340,A10U440 165-1215-01 PEAK DETECTOR "(NOT REPLACEABLE - ORDER A1O)" A10U350,A10U450 165-2074-01 CCD/CLOCK DRIVER A10U370 230-0002-50 (M299) TRIGGER LOGIC ARRAY A10U470 230-0001-50 (M299) PHASE CLOCK ARRAY A11U670 156-2381-00 TIME BASE CONTROLLER (STD CELL) A12U470 156-2380-00 WAVEFORM PROCESSOR, CUST.
