The Tektronix R7903 is a rackmount version of the 7903, a 3-slot 7904 that takes only one horizontal plug-in. Otherwise, aside from being rackmount shape, it the same as a 7904. The designers of the R7903 were Val Garuts, Thor Hallen, John McCormick, Les Larson, Bill DeVey, Bill Peek, Hans Springer, Joe Burger, Joel Swanno, and Ken Hawken.

Internals
Early R7903 (SN B149999 and earlier) use the 670-2532-00 A11 horizontal amplifier board and have issues with horizontal aberrations for sweep rates of 1 ns/Div or faster. After discovery of the issue modification kits (040-0801-00) that replace the horizontal amplifier board were offered. For more information see the manual of the 067-0657-00 Normalized Ramp Generator that was use to investigate this issue.
